Job Description

As a dairy farm operations manager at Graskop Trust, you will be responsible for managing the milking process, maintaining herd and calf health, and implementing efficient pasture management strategies.

  1. Managing milking processes (morning and evening and every second weekend)
  2. Maintain herd and calf health.
  3. Manage calf rearing (record keeping, tagging, dehorning, tattooing, branding)
  4. Manage dairy staff.
  5. Pest control (flies/ticks).
  6. Vaccination of all animals.
  7. Help with calving difficulties.
  8. Manage pastures (electric fencing, irrigation, fertilisation)
  9. Veld management (fencing, electric fencing, water)
  10. Monitor feed rations.
  11. Record and report on all dairy activities.
  12. Identify cull cows.
  13. Organise selling of beef bull calves and cull cows.
  14. Handle labour issues.
