Job Summary:

  • This dynamic opportunity demands a highly skilled and experienced Legal And Compliance Manager to spearhead our team's efforts in maintaining compliance and overseeing legal matters.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Legal-Commercial:
  • Manage the development and implementation of effective contract management strategies.
  • Provide expert guidance on legal and commercial matters to senior management and other stakeholders.
Compliance:
  • Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive compliance programs.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential areas of non-compliance.
Litigation:
  • Supervise the coordination of litigation matters, including instructing and briefing attorneys.
  • Regularly monitor and report on the progress of litigation matters.
Cosec:
  • Coordinate the preparation of essential documentation, such as board meeting materials and minutes.
  • Manage the submission of annual returns and other regulatory filings.
Projects | Big Matters:
  • Oversee major projects related to internal control procedures, contracts, and strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with various teams to achieve project objectives.
Administrative:
  • Coordinate the administration of legal and compliance matters, including interactions with external counsel and service providers.
  • Prepare and review critical documents, reports, and presentations.
Credit Applications:
  • Review and negotiate credit applications on behalf of the organization.
Agreements:
  • Develop and review key agreements, including service level agreements, employment contracts, and other business-related documents.
Litigation:
  • Manage the reporting of potential litigious matters to the insurers.
  • Provide authoritative guidance on litigious matters to the group.
Intellectual Property:
  • Ensure the timely protection of intellectual property rights.
Debtors:
  • Administer debtor management, including drafting and sending letters of demand and negotiating settlements.
Tenants and Lease Agreements:
  • Develop and review lease agreements and other essential business documents.
Liquor Licenses:
  • Manage the procurement and renewal of liquor licenses.
FICA:
  • Chair FICA meetings and ensure adherence to FICA regulations.
Compliance:
  • Develop and implement robust compliance programs.
  • Perform regular audits and risk assessments to guarantee ongoing compliance.
Predictable work:
  • Manage the day-to-day operations.
  • Identify and address potential issues proactively.
  • Mitigate risks and drive results.
