Job Overview

Terra Nova Tours, a leading Destination Management Company (DMC) in Southern Africa, is seeking an experienced Senior Groups Sales Consultant to join our Head Office team in Cape Town. As a key member of our Groups Division, you will play a crucial role in designing and selling bespoke Group travel programs across Southern Africa.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Sell Group Travel Programs: Develop customized Group itineraries for clients, taking into account their budget, requirements, and preferences.
  • Client Communication: Effectively communicate with clients via email, phone, and online meetings, addressing their queries and concerns promptly.
  • End-to-End Process Management: Manage the entire process, from client consultations to booking, accounting, and execution, ensuring seamless experiences for clients and guides.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, ensuring accurate invoicing and effective communication throughout the itinerary planning and execution stages.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as Product and Finance, to ensure smooth operations and communication.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or degree in Tourism, Hotel Management, or Events Management.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Group Travel, with a focus on ADHOC Sales and Groups Series.
  • In-depth knowledge of Southern African tourism destinations; Eastern Africa an advantage.
  • Proven experience in designing and selling Group travel programs within Southern Africa.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Tourplan and WETU systems.
  • Experience with the German Market and Culture, with proficiency in German language (read, write, converse).
  • Proven ability to manage complex itineraries and handle pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Able to work extended hours when necessary to meet the demands of the Travel Industry.
  • A proactive, problem-solving attitude and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
