Job Title: Senior Fullstack Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Fullstack Engineer to join our team at Collinson.

Estimated Salary: R1 200 000 - R1 800 000 per annum, depending on experience and location in the Western Cape, Cape Town.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled software developer to take on a leadership role and drive the design and development of complex software systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, with a focus on using modern technologies such as Node.js, React, Next.js, Typescript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of client-side and server-side software systems from conception to deployment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Build visually appealing front-end applications.
  • Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications.
  • Design and implement effective APIs.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers.
  • Stay current on industry trends and technologies to continually improve the team's technical capabilities.
  • Ensure that all software development is done to a high standard, fully tested, and deployed in a secure and reliable manner.
  • Research and recommend ways to implement emerging payment innovations.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in software development, with extensive experience leading the design and development of complex software systems.
  • Extensive experience working in large-scale enterprise software development with a global reach.
  • Knowledge of multiple front-end and back-end languages, including Node.js, React, Next.js, Typescript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and GraphQL.
  • Familiarity with database technologies such as PostgreSQL, Redis, and MongoDB.
  • Experience with service-oriented architecture.
  • Proficiency with Git, Confluence, Jira.
  • Demonstrable experience of Test Driven Development, unit testing tools, and experience of integration testing and continuous integration/deployment.
  • Working knowledge of cloud technologies, including AWS and Terraform.
  • Basic understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and deployments to the cloud.
  • The ability to write application code and automated tests according to team-adopted practices, disciplines, and quality guidelines.
