Job Summary:

Omega HR Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Junior Estimator to join our team. As a Junior Estimator, you will play a crucial role in providing accurate and detailed cost estimates to stakeholders, ensuring operational efficiency and excellence in our production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Efficiency and Excellence:
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of production costing models, including the ability to read engineering drawings, understand Bills of Materials (BOMs), and apply Lean manufacturing processes and materials to ensure cost-competitive solutions.
    • Produce accurate and detailed cost estimates for stakeholders, utilizing temporary and permanent costings, input costing knowledge, and document management skills.
    • Revisit and challenge all input costs associated with Cost Estimates (CEs), ensuring the Costing Model is updated and accurate at all times.
    • Accurately file and store data about Request For Prices (RFPs), CEs, quotations, and relevant documentation about CEs.
  • Innovation:
    • Contribute innovative ideas about products and services offered by Omega HR Solutions, focusing on materials, business processes, and outsourcing activities.
  • Industry Knowledge:
    • Continuously develop industry knowledge by visiting suppliers, conducting trade visits, and staying up-to-date with credible information about industry changes.
  • Supply Chain Management:
    • Understand material and process suppliers' offerings, costs, and capabilities.
  • Networking and Collaboration:
    • Build and maintain relationships with new and existing suppliers and clients.
    • Apply collaborative-negotiation approaches to benefit Omega HR Solutions, suppliers, customers, and the environment.
  • Cost Analysis:
    • Provide basic analysis information between cost and sell prices for processes and materials, and the details thereof.

Requirements:

  • Matric/Grade 12 is a non-negotiable requirement.
  • 1-3 years of experience in an estimating position.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ERP Systems.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Deadline-driven and able to meet target dates.
  • Able to prioritize, manage conflict, and negotiate.

Salary: R15,000 per month.
