We are seeking an experienced Electronics Systems Engineer to join our team at J2K Consulting (Pty) Ltd in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in electronics engineering and be registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer.

The core purpose of this job focuses on design and development of electronic building systems and devices used in construction and infrastructure projects, such as communication systems, security systems, and energy management systems.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop electronic system specifications and designs based on customer requirements and design standards.
  • Collaborate with architects, construction managers, and other engineers to ensure that electronic systems are feasible and integrated into construction projects and meet all client requirements.
  • Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software and other engineering tools to create and refine electronic system designs.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to determine the viability of new designs and electronic system techniques.
  • Develop and maintain contract and project documentation, including design reports, drawings, and specifications.
  • Ensure that electronic systems meet statutory and regulatory requirements and adhere to safety, reliability, and sustainability standards.
  • Collaborate with members of the multi-disciplinary project team to ensure that electronic systems are installed, tested, and commissioned on time and within budget.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings, making recommendations to senior project management team members.
  • Conduct regular project team meetings and provide guidance and support to multi-disciplinary project team members.
