Derivatives Trader

We are seeking a Junior Derivatives Trader who is eager to build a career in the derivatives market. As a key member of our dynamic Derivatives Trading team, you will work closely with senior traders to understand and support the day-to-day trading process.

• Trading Support: You will learn how trades are executed, how strategies are developed, and how risk is managed, gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of trading.
• Market Intelligence: You will provide high-quality, asset-class-specific market intelligence to clients, helping them make informed decisions in the derivatives market.
• Proactive Revenue Generation: You will focus on generating revenue by identifying market opportunities, taking the initiative, and proactively engaging with clients and market developments.
• Order Execution: You will manage and execute orders with precision, ensuring each trade is handled with accountability and professionalism.
• Research & Analysis: You will generate and distribute market intelligence and ongoing research reports to support the trading desk. You will develop bespoke research products and new trading ideas.
• Client Interaction: You will participate in client meetings, answering queries and providing updates on market conditions and trading opportunities.
• Team Collaboration: You will engage in team discussions, attend morning meetings, and collaborate on strategies to ensure effective execution and a cohesive working environment.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• 1-3 years of experience in a stockbroking or investment banking environment, with exposure to financial markets and trading.
• Proficiency in using trading/information systems to execute and track trades effectively.
• A strong interest in financial markets, particularly the derivatives market and its products.

We offer a competitive salary of $85,000 per annum, plus additional benefits.
