Job Description
You will be responsible for ensuring health and safety compliance across the site, working closely with Site Management and the Safety Manager. This involves developing and implementing policies, plans, and procedures, as well as conducting thorough investigations into incidents and near misses.
Main Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing health and safety policies, plans, and procedures.
- Conducting incident investigations and identifying root causes.
- Developing and conducting emergency response exercises and drills.
- Preparing audit reports and providing recommendations for improvement.
- Identifying non-conformities and providing proactive measures to prevent re-occurrence.
- Developing and implementing group campaigns on site.
- Conducting site-specific risk assessments.
- Providing expert advice on safety-related matters.
- Submitting regular reports to the Safety Manager and Site Manager.
- Reporting incidents and near misses to the Group HSE system.
- Organizing and coordinating SHE committee meetings.
Key Requirements:
- SAMTRAC/Safety management diploma/NEBOSH certification.
- Certified as a Safety Officer (CHSO).
- SACPCMP registration (CHSO).
- A minimum of 5-10 years' experience in a similar role, with a strong background in construction safety and OHSA compliance.
- HRIA/incident investigation/first aid certificates are advantageous.
