About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Strategist to join our team at Tower Group. As a key member of our Sourcing & Procurement team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing strategic procurement plans that drive cost savings and improve overall efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Sourcing
• Identify potential suppliers and negotiate contracts to secure advantageous terms and conditions.
• Develop and implement strategic procurement plans to achieve cost savings and improve overall efficiency.
• Evaluate and analyze supplier proposals to ensure alignment with organizational goals and standards.

Category Strategy Development

You will be responsible for collaborating with stakeholders to understand the organization's overall business strategy and goals. You will then translate these objectives into actionable procurement strategies for specific categories, considering market dynamics, industry trends, and internal requirements.

Market Analysis and Research

You will conduct thorough market research to understand current and emerging trends within assigned procurement categories. You will analyze market conditions, supplier capabilities, and potential risks to inform strategic decision-making.

Demand Forecasting

You will work closely with internal departments to forecast demand for products and services within assigned categories. You will anticipate changes in demand patterns and adjust procurement strategies accordingly.

Opportunity Identification

You will identify opportunities for consolidation, standardization, and leveraging economies of scale within the category. You will explore innovative solutions and technologies that can enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of procurement processes.

Lifecycle Management

You will develop strategies for managing the entire lifecycle of products and services within the category, from initial sourcing to end-of-life considerations. You will implement sustainable procurement practices and consider environmental, social, and ethical factors.

Risk Mitigation

You will assess potential risks associated with the supply chain within the category, including geopolitical, economic, and operational risks. You will develop risk mitigation strategies to ensure a resilient and robust supply chain.

Continuous Improvement

You will implement a continuous improvement mindset within the category, regularly reviewing and refining procurement strategies based on performance metrics and feedback. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and innovation.

Performance Metrics and KPIs

You will define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success of category strategies. You will regularly monitor and report on the performance of procurement activities within the category.

Collaboration and Communication

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and quality assurance, to align category strategies with broader organizational goals. You will communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure understanding and buy-in for category strategies.

Budgeting & Cost Control

You will support the Manager Sourcing & Procurement in performing spend analyses, contract analyses, and categories review. You will propose actions and initiatives to include in the annual budget process.

Contract Management

You will ensure the proper implementation and follow-up of relevant procurement contracts. You will facilitate visibility and availability of contracts and ensure that supplier contracts are managed in line with the specifications of the Procurement Policies and principles (compliance).

Supplier Management

You will establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers. You will evaluate vendor performance, addressing any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.

$85,000 - $105,000 per annum, depending on experience.
