The Health and Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the SHE Management System to meet the minimum Group requirements on sites, branches, and departments. This includes conducting risk assessments, ensuring site safety files are compiled and approved, and ensuring compliance with all SHE requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a technical certificate in safety management, SAMTRAC certification, and at least 5-8 years of experience as a Health and Safety Officer in the mining industry. They will be proficient in MS Suite and have excellent incident investigation and HIRA experience.

The Health and Safety Officer will be responsible for conducting daily site inspections, managing the risk assessment process, and ensuring that all SHE-related information is maintained on the SHEMS. They will also be responsible for planning and participating in site audits and inspections, and ensuring that all necessary reports are submitted.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage with employees and provide ongoing training and development. They will be able to lead good housekeeping practices and maintain a strong health and safety culture.
