About the Job:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced COVID-19 Screening Officer to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of our employees, visitors, and contractors by screening them for COVID-19 symptoms.

Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a COVID-19 Screening Officer. In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by conducting temperature screenings and enforcing health and safety protocols.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct temperature screenings of all individuals entering the premises using a non-contact thermometer.
  • Record and document the results of each screening, including any individuals who are denied entry due to symptoms or high temperature.
  • Collaborate with the Branch Manager to develop and implement effective health and safety protocols to prevent the spread of infection within the workplace.
  • Participate in regular training sessions to stay up-to-date on the latest guidelines and best practices for COVID-19 screening and prevention.
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure seamless execution of health and safety procedures and provide support when needed.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A Matric certificate (NQF level 4) plus a Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or Nursing and Paramedicine.
  • 1-3 years' experience in a healthcare, office, or facility environment, preferably in an occupational health and safety role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments.
  • Able to commit to working five days a week, with flexible hours to accommodate the needs of the organization.
