Enterprise Architect Job Description

At IT Ridge Technologies, we are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping our technology strategy and ensuring the alignment of our application portfolio with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Application Portfolio Management: Ensure the application portfolio evolves at an appropriate rate, aligning with changing business and technology architectures.
  • Reusable Standards and Guidelines: Provide standards, guidelines, patterns, and frameworks to application development projects, promoting reuse and consistency.
  • Optimized Solution Architecture: Collaborate with subject matter experts to optimize all aspects of the application solution architecture, considering time, budget, and business constraints.
  • Application Interface Design: Design application interfaces and software services to maximize reuse, based on business processes and governance rules.
  • Standardized Development: Choose a standard way of pursuing application development, defining or selecting an application framework.
  • Component Design: Recognize potential reuse in the organization or application, observing and understanding the broader system environment.
  • Complex Application Subdivision: Subdivide complex applications into smaller, manageable pieces during the design phase.
  • Component Function Understanding: Grasp the functions of each component within the application.
  • Component Interactions: Understand the interactions and dependencies among components.
  • Communication: Communicate these concepts to developers.
  • IT Architecture Review: Review, develop, and maintain the organization's IT architecture.
  • Architecture Evaluation: Review and evaluate the current state of the organization's architecture, identifying duplications, successes, and areas for improvement.
  • Transition Architecture: Build the transition architecture to connect the current to the future state, creating an iterative roadmap.
  • Business Architecture Roadmaps: Work with business stakeholders to develop roadmaps containing tactical and strategic initiatives to reach target business capabilities.
  • Solution Design: Design solutions based on business requirements, aligning with reference architecture policies and standards.
  • Custom Requirements: Provide expertise in designing solutions for custom requirements.
  • Stakeholder Reviews: Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders and conduct reviews of architecture roadmaps and designs.
  • Enterprise Architecture Policy: Determine enterprise architecture policy and standards definition and evolution, working with the PMO to coordinate project pipeline management.
  • Implementation Collaboration: Engage relevant peers from other disciplines or domains during the implementation of solution architecture/design.
  • Future State Architecture: Accountable for building a defined life cycle around reviewing the future state enterprise architecture.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems
  • Equivalent experience required TOGAF certification
Experience:
  • 10 years' experience in a related field
  • 5 years' experience in an Enterprise/Solution Architect role
  • Knowledge of relevant Information Technology governance and legislative framework (such as COBIT, ITIL, TOGAF, SDLC, ASAP, SOA)
