Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to work with our client in the commercial truck industry in Ermelo, Mpumalanga.

  • Consult with customers and review work orders to assess tasks required.
  • Develop work plans after thoroughly evaluating issues.
  • Conduct diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpret results to provide suitable solutions.
  • Inspect vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering, and exhausts.
  • Repair or replace vehicle transmissions, brakes, engines, and other associated parts.
  • Perform field visits in case of emergencies or sudden breakdowns.
  • Test drive repaired vehicles to evaluate performance.
  • Complete oil changes, wheel balancing, alignment, and brake checks.
  • Maintain records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Grade 12
  • Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle
  • Qualified Diesel Mechanic Trade
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience working on commercial vehicles
  • Knowledge and experience with DAF, FAW, PowerStar, UD, and Iveco trucks.
