Job Description

As a Machine Operator at FACT Sa, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our slitting machine. Your primary responsibility will be to operate the machine according to pre-defined production and waste targets.

Main Responsibilities

  • Efficiently operate the slitting machine to meet daily production targets.
  • Monitor and maintain the machine's health, adhering to industrial safety, food safety, and personal hygiene standards.
  • Identify and report any issues with the machine, collaborating with the maintenance team to resolve problems promptly.
  • Perform daily input and output reconciliation of consumed raw materials and produced printed material.
  • Adhere to plant HR rules regarding entry and exit procedures and disciplinary actions.
  • Foster a clean and safe work environment.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Actual production versus set targets, monitored daily and monthly.
  • Process waste vs. set targets, ensuring finished products exceed customer expectations.
  • Internal/external quality complaints in produced products, monitored daily and monthly.
  • External quality complaints and rejections after sale within set target norms.
  • Maintain adherence to personal and industrial safety guidelines.
  • Comply with QMS and Food Safety regulations while operating the machine.
  • Develop skills in machine operation through training with senior operators and guidance from the reporting manager.
  • Nurture positive relationships with the machine team and reporting manager.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or ITI with 2-6 years of relevant industry experience.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of mechanical systems.
  • Basic computer skills, including MS Office applications.
  • Presentation skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
