Job Summary

CFAO is seeking a skilled Spray Painter to join our team in the workshop. As a Spray Painter, you will be responsible for ensuring that forklifts and other equipment are painted to the highest standards of quality and workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect forklift surfaces and structures to be painted for repair, prepping, and/or buffing defects.
  • Mix specific colors using standard formulas or color charts.
  • Perform paint repairs and refinishing to current company standards using spray-painting equipment, power tools, and work aids.
  • Sand, mask, blend, and polish finishes. Apply or retouch paint as necessary.
  • Carry out minor cosmetic repairs; responsible to do such requested repairs according to instruction, correctly and promptly.
  • Assist with stripping/disassembling of equipment in order to perform checks/complete repairs; assist with re-assembly of equipment.
  • Prepare machines for spray painting.
  • Provide general physical assistance to technicians/mechanics/workshop foreman/supervisor as and when requested.
  • Must generally act and work in an efficient and safety-conscious manner.
  • Must operate equipment, use hand power tools, and specialized hand tools in correct and safe manner with or without supervision.
  • Responsible for the identification and separation of non-conforming parts or materials and report them to supervisors.
  • Utilize spray gun and apply paint in conformance with all specifications.
  • Utilize solvents, wire brushes, and cloths for cleaning sprayers and power equipment.
  • Follow company requirements to select paint, and match colors of paint following specified color charts.
  • Responsible for material and minor maintenance.
  • Set up the spray equipment.

  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
