Taxation Specialist

A highly respected accounting firm in the region is seeking a skilled Taxation Specialist to join their team. The ideal candidate will oversee and ensure the accurate and timely submission of all SARS-related tax filings for clients, primarily focusing on companies and trusts.

Key Responsibilities:

• SARS Tax Compliance & Reporting: Manage corporate and individual tax return submissions for ~400 clients, including provisional tax and ad hoc submissions.
• SARS Engagement & Dispute Resolution: Handle SARS queries, objections, audits, and dispute resolutions while representing clients and minimizing risk.
• Process Improvement & Risk Management: Optimize tax compliance workflows, enhance accuracy, and collaborate with internal teams to improve reporting.
• Team Leadership & Development: Mentor and guide the Tax Administrator to develop their skills and take on greater responsibilities.
• Reporting & Internal Coordination: Track compliance, report on tax submissions, communicate deadlines, and escalate potential risks when necessary.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Taxation or Accounting
• 3-5 years of total experience
• SARS e-filing experience is a requirement
• Experience in tax compliance and tax submissions
• Ability to manage tax compliance for a high volume of clients
