We are seeking a seasoned Senior Legal Counsel to join our internal legal department. As a key member of the team, you will provide critical support in fulfilling the credit compliance function, including transaction execution, post-transaction monitoring, and recoveries.

About the Role:
  • Assist with vetting terms and conditions of deals from a legal perspective prior to Credit Committee approval.
  • Draft legal agreements and related documents from standard templates.
  • Instruct attorneys for registration of securities.
  • Ensure compliance with all deal conditions prior to disbursing funds.
  • Project manage commercial recovery matters internally and externally.
  • Provide expert legal advice and services in corporate and commercial matters.
  • Perform KYC/FICA/AML/PEP checks on clients.
  • Draft Term Sheets encapsulating credit approval terms.
  • Attend queries from credit analysts, operations, and clients providing legal expertise to the Credit Committee.
  • Draft regulatory required documents and non-standard security agreements.

About You:

  • Admitted Attorney with 3-5 years post-articles experience.
  • Law Degree and extensive commercial litigation experience.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Techno savvy with attention to detail.
  • Organized and professional work ethic.
  • Comfortable engaging with customers at all levels.
