Job Description:

The Recruitment Council is seeking a seasoned Group Underwriting Manager to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for the overall performance of the Underwriting Department and ensuring adherence to underwriting processes and procedures.

You will manage a team of commercial and personal lines underwriters, providing guidance to branch and other staff, and offering insights on the underwriting function to management. This role requires strong leadership and team management skills, as well as effective interpersonal and communication skills.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of ten years in commercial and personal underwriting, with three years in a supervisory and/or management position. A degree in Risk Management or Short-term Insurance qualification (e.g., ACII) is required, along with FAIS Fit & Proper requirements.

We are looking for an individual with extensive knowledge of commercial and domestic underwriting, excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, and sound knowledge of the insurance industry. Proficiency in Flexibroker and Cardinal 360, as well as MS Office Suite, is essential.
