Job Description

About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Supply Planner to join our team at Assign Services (Pty) Ltd - JHB. As a key member of our end-to-end planning team, you will be responsible for driving supply planning operations to respond to business needs and ensure high customer service while optimizing inventory holdings.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop monthly purchase forecasts for added value imported products and collaborate with factory planners on availability and possible supply constraints.
  • Place firm intercompany orders for local warehouse replenishment and follow up with factory planners until order is shipped.
  • Ensure optimal container optimization on inbound orders to keep Freight-In costs as low as possible.
  • Manage local inventory levels, balancing intended service level and optimal inventory holdings.
  • Monitor Overstock and Slow-Moving items, working with Sales and Marketing teams to propose actions to deplete them.
  • Closely work with Marketing teams to ensure timely availability of new products.
  • Participate in local IBP process.
  • Contribute to weekly production planning process.
  • Verify correct integration of inbound stock into the system; analyze inbound discrepancies if necessary and follow up until resolution.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Intercompany Orders accuracy, MAPE at different Lags.
  • Fill Rate Service Level, in value and volume.
  • Inventory Holdings, absolute value and as % of Net Sales.
  • Slow Movers and Overstock.
  • On Time New Products Launch.
  • Customs clearance On Time.
  • On time reception.
  • Inbound Accuracy.

Typical Day:

  • Supply Planning: Place intercompany orders in the system; follow up with factory planners on open orders until availability is confirmed; optimize orders and build up optimal containers; share inbound information with local team to prepare reception at warehouse.
  • Inventory Management: track inventory evolution; follow up on inventory depletion actions; track slow movers and overstock products; plan inventory holdings in terms of respecting inventory targets.
  • Product-Data administrator: maintain up-to-date product data in planning systems, particularly product status. Open and close products in planning systems to forecast and supply accordingly.

Requirements:

  • University degree completed in relevant field.
  • Minimum experience of 3 years.

  • Strong team player.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Process Oriented. Ability to continuously improve a supply chain and manage complex customer needs.
  • Efficient and can prioritize workload.

  • Solution-driven with the willingness and ability to implement innovative ideas and improve working methodologies. Able to break down complex issues into simple components and build/implement required action plans.
  • Hands-on in line with the company's culture, can handle various tasks with humility and business drive.
  • Advanced level required on Excel Office.
  • Any ERP knowledge (JDE preferably).

Salary: R850,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. This position offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including opportunities for career growth and professional development.
