Job Purpose:

To drive the development of future-state architecture and ensure its effective adoption. Provide and identify operational opportunities, overall direction, guidance, and definition of the enterprise architecture that effectively supports business strategies. Advocate and support the enterprise's IT strategy, identify and analyze enterprise business drivers, analyze the current IT environment to detect critical deficiencies, recommend solutions for improvement, and develop strategies for aligning IT to the business. Act as a trusted technology advisor to the business in realizing the business strategy for the relevant discipline. Responsible for the end-to-end view across both Capabilities and/or Solution Architecture disciplines, ensuring alignment across relevant domains. Work as an advocate and liaise with Information Services and Technology operational teams and enterprise architects researching technology trends.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Facilitate priority setting, project selection, and integration in the organization by providing guiding principles and architecture.
  2. Ensure alignment with emerging technologies and recommend new technologies.
  3. Deliver business tasks according to the level of expertise to meet financial objectives.
  4. Address client needs by leading phases of projects or consulting with projects and business leaders across various architecture disciplines.
  5. Build professional relationships and lead influence in all architecture disciplines.
  6. Build and maintain relationships within the enterprise and the larger field of specialty.
  7. Lead the achievement of architecture solutions where an understanding of all disciplines is required.
  8. Monitor and evaluate competitive offerings that could change the domain landscape affecting multiple domains or the broader organization.
  9. Identify the business impact of change and associated risks.
  10. Integrate the change impact into business recommendations and strategic planning.
  11. Adjust recommendations by considering the impact of new initiatives on market perception.
  12. Enable enterprise-wide solutions to integrate well with existing practices by developing mitigating actions and change strategies.
  13. Consider not only the optimization of the system but also the long-term viability of the system.
  14. Build models around future scenario planning.
  15. Optimize the architectural strategy across various families or portfolios of applications or products in the enterprise by taking an enterprise viewpoint.
  16. Effect multiple domains or create new domains or change the landscape through the development of position papers.
  17. Integrate the key principles and issues to build enterprise-wide solutions.
  18. Apply disciplines in various projects in relevant solution domains across multiple business areas.
  19. Combine multiple perspectives from experience in various roles on multiple developments and architecture projects.
  20. Consider enterprise-wide relevant best practices within the larger financial industry and global economy.
  21. Ensure alignment to the newest trends by monitoring emerging trends and evaluating their potential impact on the broader organization.
  22. Deliver on work tasks for which the impact can only be determined 3-5 years later.
  23. Move the system towards the desired future state through consideration of future scenarios, the macro environment, and an understanding of present operational requirements.
  24. Identify underlying patterns in vague, ambiguous information.
  25. Make judgments based on hypotheses, future scenarios, or educated guesses.
  26. Provide advice to the business across all disciplines.
  27. Support the achievement of the business strategy, objectives, and values.
  28. Stay abreast of developments in the field of expertise.
  29. Ensure personal growth and enable effectiveness in the performance of roles and responsibilities.
  30. Contribute to Company Culture building initiatives (e.g., staff surveys, etc.).
  31. Participate and support corporate responsibility initiatives for the achievement of business strategy.
