Civil Engineer/Technologist Job Description

Lusapho Professional Services is seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer/Technologist to join our team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and designing road infrastructure, with a focus on roads, drainage design, tender documentation, and contract administration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and design road infrastructure, including geometric design from inception to detailed design.
  • Prepare and analyze detailed engineering plans and specifications, estimating quantities and costs of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project feasibility.
  • Compile bill of quantities, manage project timelines efficiently, and prepare and evaluate tender documents.
  • Provide technical advice regarding design, construction, or program modifications, and manage project workflow.
  • Ensure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques, and implement the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act.
  • Perform all civil engineering duties, including managing several projects simultaneously.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree (BSc. or B.Tech) in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 4 years of experience with extensive knowledge in roads, drainage design, tender documentation, and contract administration.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil3D Design, and other relevant software.
  • Knowledge of TRH series, SANRAL Geometric Design standards, SANRAL drainage Manual, COTO specifications, and other relevant standards.
  • Capable of solving complex engineering problems and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
