We're seeking an experienced payroll professional to join our team at Ithemba Recruitment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing payroll administration, ensuring accurate payroll processing, and maintaining pay registers. They will also be involved in onboarding new employees, managing employee transfers, and reviewing approved timesheets.

In addition to these key responsibilities, the successful candidate will need to track and deduct garnishees, expenses, and special payroll deductions, process clocking reports, and maintain employee records on the clocking system.

We're looking for someone with a strong background in payroll administration, excellent organizational skills, and experience working with payroll software such as Sage VIP or Sage One Payroll. A financial or payroll qualification is advantageous, but not essential.

The ideal candidate will be deadline-driven, able to multitask, and possess outstanding organizational and time management abilities. They should also have experience with bargaining council and union contributions and be able to maintain confidentiality.

Please note that a valid driver's license and own vehicle are required for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage payroll processing for employees nationwide.
  2. Ensure accurate payroll capture in accordance with branch manager salary schedules/payroll packs.
  3. Maintain pay registers and scan them to the server correctly and on time.
  4. Load correct salary values to the salary payment system for release.
  5. Process leave forms promptly.
  6. Onboard new employees, manage employee transfers, and review approved timesheets for accuracy.
  7. Track and deduct garnishees, expenses, and special payroll deductions.
  8. Process clocking reports for all branches.
  9. Clock reports for managers' sign-off.
  10. Maintain employee records on the clocking system.
  11. Review job records to ensure hours worked align with submitted timesheets.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Financial/Payroll Qualification is advantageous.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position with a workforce of at least 200 employees.
  3. Experience with Sage VIP or Sage One Payroll is essential.
  4. Applied knowledge of payroll or remuneration departments and reporting.
  5. Advanced Excel skills.
  6. Outstanding organizational and time management abilities.
  7. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  8. Reporting and financial acumen.
  9. Deadline-driven work ethic.
  10. Experience with bargaining council and union contributions.
  11. Discretion and confidentiality are paramount.
  12. A valid driver's license and own vehicle are required.
