We are seeking a highly skilled Supply Chain Management Specialist to join our team at Wirquin Manufacturing Ltd. Located in Kariega, this role will play a critical part in driving the company's supply chain operations forward.

Key Responsibilities
  • Warehouse Supervision: Oversee three warehouses: Finished Goods, Raw Materials & Components. Organise and allocate work duties, ensuring personnel meet deadlines. Improve and manage Stock Integrity. Provide Support to SCM Manager in SCM functions as needed.
  • Commodity Management: Ensure technical requirements are clearly written and specified. Find suitable suppliers meeting company requirements. Carry out bids, analysing quotations based on total cost of ownership method (price, quality, and service). Lead the audit process for new suppliers, introducing them to Quality and SCM departments. Manage database settings for supplier creation (Key contracts, Prices, Payment terms, Leadtime, MOQ).
  • Supplier Contracts: Negotiate and finalise agreements with suppliers. Implement Purchasing policy with suppliers. Solve disputes regarding product quality & quantity, lead time between internal departments and Suppliers, and claims processes.
  • Saving Initiatives Projects: Launch saving projects, ensuring follow-up actions to achieve agreed targets.
  • New Product Development: Liaise with marketing department on new products and launches. Source new products and materials for product launches. Complete ICF according to requirements for all purchased items. Calculate landed costs for components and raw materials, as per received requests.
  • Purchasing/Procurement - Local and Imports: Maintain active market research for potential suppliers, markets, and saving ideas. Utilise needs analyses to establish quantities to order from local and import suppliers. Place orders and follow up on delivery. Report on stock issues such as supply delay, inability to obtain stock, supplier non-conformance, etc.
  • Administrative: Ensure meeting minutes are completed, communicated, and archived. Establish contractual relationships with new suppliers. Apply existing procedures and create those that are missing. Keep ERP database settings up-to-date (Item, Supplier, Price, etc.). Attend S&OP monthly meetings.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Qualification in Purchasing and/or Supplier development
  • At least 2-3 years experience as a Purchaser/ Supplier developer
  • Experience in Warehouse Management is advantageous
  • Good administrative skills
  • Good MS knowledge (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Pastel knowledge is highly favourable
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong inter-personal skills and team player
  • Honesty, integrity, passion, pride

The estimated salary range for this position is approximately R550,000 - R750,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
