This role is pivotal in steering the organization towards enhanced performance and efficiency. The Operational Excellence Manager will provide strategic leadership and specialized knowledge to the team, focusing on loss assessment, data analytics, and training frameworks. This position is integral to supporting the leadership team in executing the Journey to Excellence (JTE) initiative, which aims to cultivate employee skills, ensure data integrity, and boost employee involvement through the deployment of high-performance operational systems to achieve outstanding business outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Enhance Visibility of Loss Metrics

Direct annual loss assessments to align with organizational goals and budgetary objectives. Collaborate with site leadership to prioritize initiatives aimed at loss mitigation. Supply analytical support and rationale for technological enhancements and capital investments. Spearhead the Focused Improvement initiative at the site.

2. Oversee Data and Analytics at the Site

Ensure the accuracy of site data through comprehensive training, regular audits, and change management protocols. This includes scorecards, downtime databases, manual tracking systems, and master data management. Analyze and interpret key performance indicators such as Process Reliability, Productivity, Yield, and Scrap. Compile and disseminate the site scorecard on a monthly basis. Develop and implement a robust analytics strategy for the site. Establish a systematic review process for scorecards, ensuring appropriate frequency and stakeholder involvement. Promote data-driven decision-making across all organizational levels.

3. Establish Effective Training Programs

Mentor site personnel and subject matter experts on methodologies and tools, including: Basic performance metrics and trends Problem-solving techniques Root cause analysis Loss reduction initiatives Participate in the Training and Development initiative Develop and sustain comprehensive training systems at the site.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field is essential. A minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations is required. A background in Total Productive Maintenance, Lean methodologies, Change Management, and Organizational Effectiveness is preferred. Experience in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) is advantageous. Leadership experience in team and operations is preferred. Proficiency in generating reports using current and future Business Intelligence tools, including SAP Hana and Tableau. Experience in analyzing complex datasets, deriving insights, and constructing robust statistical models. Comfort with both structured and unstructured data is necessary. Ability to evaluate intricate information to make informed judgments and decisions. Must thrive in detail-oriented environments without succumbing to analysis paralysis.
