Job Title: Total Reward Strategist

Bridge Personnel Concepts is seeking a highly skilled Total Reward Strategist to lead the design and implementation of an effective reward strategy aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Implement Reward Strategy: Formulate a comprehensive reward strategy that aligns with business objectives, operating conditions, culture, and employee value proposition.
  • Lead Total Reward Functional Areas: Identify and interpret related legislation and its impact on Total Reward disciplines, ensuring compliance and design for configuration suitable to every operating jurisdiction.
  • Communicate Strategic Context: Provide a meaningful strategic context that guides and directs best practice, fostering an environment of Total Reward understanding for retention purposes.
  • Manage Total Reward Risks: Lead the identification, monitoring, and management of Total Reward risks in partnership with the Executive team.
  • Develop and Maintain Positive Engagement: Develop and maintain positive engagement with internal customers, building effective relationships and networks to support the achievement of Total Reward strategies and plans.
  • Provide Strategic Direction: Provide strategic direction, planning, and requirements to execute the design, implementation, communication, and administration of compensation programs, including annual short- and long-term incentives and executive compensation.
  • Evaluate Effectiveness: Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of rewards programs to ensure they are aligned with business and talent strategies and monitor market trends to make recommendations for changes, as appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Qualification: NQF 7 (Bachelors Degree or Advanced Diploma) in Human Resource Management, Industrial Psychology, or relevant field.
  • South African Reward Association (SARA) Reward Certification.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years experience in a related role, of which 5 years should have been at a management level or experience in a functional/specialist area.
  • SARA Relevant Post Qualification Reward Experience: SARA relevant post qualification reward experience in a large multi-national organisation.
  • Membership: Be a member of the South African Reward Association (SARA).

Key Skills:

  • Strategic Understanding: Demonstrate strategic understanding of the total reward function and the impact it has on the organisation.
  • Legislative Framework: Demonstrate excellent understanding of the legislative framework impacting on the labour governance of the organisation.
  • Risk Management: Show the ability to perceive and quantify risks for mitigation.
  • Business Writing Skills: Possess business writing skills in the delivery of Exco and Board submissions and annual reports.
  • Payroll and Incentives: Demonstrate sound knowledge and in-depth understanding of payroll, incentives, and other reward-related systems and governance.
