Job Title: Junior Solar PV Engineer

ABC Worldwide is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Junior Solar PV Engineer to join our team in Cape Town. As a key member of our Business Development team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our growth and success in the solar industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support to sales staff in preparing sales offers, focusing on technical and application aspects.
  • Offer technical selling, consultation, and support to customers, showcasing our PV products and systems in commercial and residential markets.
  • Offer on-site and telephonic technical support to customers.
  • Repair and assess products in our Service Centre, managing product return processes.
  • Prepare quotations, client follow-ups, product and stock consulting, and order confirmations to clients.
  • Support the Department Manager in implementing new products and services.
  • Stay up-to-date with internal knowledge on new products or updates and changes, processing and presenting this information in our company's knowledge base and training colleagues.
  • Collaborate with the Department Manager to set up and maintain technical presentations, product battle cards, warranty guidelines, etc.
  • Initiate regular technical product and system trainings with clients for new products or system configurations.
  • Prepare PV designs using our design software PV Manager, initiating internal and external trainings.
  • Drawing single-line diagrams.
  • Handle warranties and claims for products, especially those where we are responsible for first-line service.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in the solar field is an asset.
  • Product experience with Victron, SMA, Fronius, GoodWe, SolarMD, and BYD is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of technical experience in the solar industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Excellent Afrikaans and English skills.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and effectively multi-task daily and meet deadlines.
  • Assertive, confident, and clear communicator via email, phone, and face-to-face.
  • Proficient with desktop applications such as Windows & Office. ERP System Knowledge is an asset.
  • Experience with PV Design Software such as PV Syst, PV Sol, etc., is an asset.
  • Must have a valid state driver's license.
