Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the bank in developing and implementing a science-based net-zero plan
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve the bank's climate and nature goals
  • Manage risks associated with climate change and nature
  • Develop and implement processes to reduce the bank's carbon footprint
  • Draft policies and procedures related to climate and nature
  • Engage with stakeholders and manage relationships
  • Provide advisory services and conduct research
  • Develop and deliver training programs
  • Coordinate project implementation and ensure timely delivery
Requirements:
  • Matric certificate and a bachelor's degree in science, environmental management, climate science, or a related field
  • Postgraduate degree in environmental management, sustainability, environmental economics, or climate science
  • SACNASP registration
  • At least 10 years of experience in climate and nature operational or consulting roles
  • Experience in managing net-zero transition plans
  • Experience working with government entities, academics, research institutes, business, and non-government entities
  • Experience in financial services, sustainable finance, or strategy consulting
  • Clear criminal record, ITC, and fraud record
