Profile Personnel is seeking a qualified and seasoned Quality Assurance Lead to join a reputable organization focused on maintaining the highest standards of product safety and quality. This pivotal role involves the development, implementation, and management of comprehensive quality control systems and processes that align with industry benchmarks, regulatory standards, and client expectations.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, Microbiology, or a related discipline.
  • Preferred postgraduate qualifications.
  • At least 5 years of experience in quality assurance and management within the food or dairy production sector.
  • Proficient knowledge and experience with Quality Management Systems, including FSSC, ISO, and GMP.
  • Thorough understanding of food safety regulations, quality control standards, and HACCP principles.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to product quality and safety.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly Intermediate Excel.
  • Results-driven with a focus on targets and quality.
  • Able to inspire and lead teams to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.

Quality Control Systems:

Design, implement, and uphold quality control systems and procedures to oversee and regulate the production process, from raw material intake to the final product packaging.

Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure adherence to all pertinent food safety and quality regulations, including FDA, USDA, HACCP, and other applicable standards. Remain informed about evolving regulations and adjust company practices accordingly.

Quality Audits:

Conduct both internal and external quality audits to ensure compliance with established quality and safety standards. Address any identified non-conformities and implement corrective and preventive measures.

Product Testing:

Supervise the evaluation of products for quality attributes, encompassing sensory analysis, chemical composition, microbiological safety, and shelf-life assessments.

Product Releases:

Manage the external testing and approval of products, ensuring timely reporting and maintaining relationships with external laboratories.

Pathogen Management:

Identify, monitor, and mitigate pathogenic risks throughout production processes and products. Collaborate closely with the sanitation team to evaluate the effectiveness of cleaning and sanitation procedures.

Documentation:

Maintain precise records and documentation related to quality control processes, test outcomes, and regulatory compliance. Ensure all documentation is organized and readily accessible for audits.

Supplier Quality:

Work in conjunction with the supplier quality department to guarantee that raw materials and ingredients meet established quality standards and specifications.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify and pursue opportunities for process enhancement, focusing on improving product quality and operational efficiency. Implement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma as necessary.

Training:

Educate and train employees on quality control procedures, safety protocols, and good manufacturing practices. Conduct regular training sessions to foster a culture of quality within the organization.

Incident Management:

Establish and execute procedures for addressing product quality issues, recalls, and customer complaints. Investigate root causes and implement corrective actions.

Communication:

Maintain effective communication with other departments, including production, research and development, and sales, to ensure that quality requirements and customer expectations are clearly understood and met.
