The Donor Care Officer is a vital member of our team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our blood donation drives. Key responsibilities include managing stakeholder relations, coordinating donations, and maintaining equipment.
Main Responsibilities
Stakeholder Engagement
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with donors, stakeholders, and team members.
- Manage stakeholder relations at blood drives and/or donor centres, addressing any issues promptly.
Donation Process
- Collaborate with the phlebotomy team to collect whole blood and/or apheresis units, meeting set targets.
- Ensure accurate documentation of donor information and donation processes.
Equipment Maintenance
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Address any equipment-related issues promptly, reporting them to supervisors as necessary.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Donation Targets
- Achieve set targets for whole blood and specialised collections during each blood drive.
Equipment Availability
- Minimise equipment downtime, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in General Nursing Sciences.
- Code B or EB manual driver's license.
- 2 years registered professional nursing experience.
- Understanding of relevant legislation and company policies.
