Key Responsibilities

As an Industrial Electrician Lead, your primary duties will include:

  • Ensuring a strong understanding and compliance with Kolsen's QHSE requirements and relevant policies among the workforce.
  • Maintaining a proactive approach to identifying hazards, developing safety procedures, and promoting continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental matters.
  • Ensuring that all electrical work is performed and supervised by holders of appropriate electrical work licenses.

You will support Kolsen's corporate quality, safety, health, and environmental management systems by reporting any situations that could result in harm to people or the environment and identifying opportunities to improve service quality.

You will be required to pause or make safe any work condition or activity that poses an immediate risk to safety and notify the responsible line manager and the QHSE adviser or Director.

You will lead and promote the implementation of integrated management systems for Quality, Safety, Health, and Environment.

Additionally, you will ensure that apprentices perform works only as per Division 3A of the 'Electrical Workers and Contractors Act 1978'.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A current Northern Territory Electrical Trade Certificate or registration.
  • A valid Northern Territory 'C' Class Driving Licence.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematic drawings.
  • Experience in heavy industrial electrical construction, including installation of High Voltage equipment and systems.
  • Familiarity with the construction of substations and/or renewable projects is highly advantageous.

Demonstrated skills and experience in reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematic drawings are essential.
