About the Role:

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Customs Brokerage operations and be able to manage and oversee all Customs Brokerage Operational Standards. This includes ensuring all classification instructions for all shipments, monitoring duty deferment usage and levels, and monitoring license/visa applications.

The successful candidate will also provide strong support to the sales team and accompany them to client meetings as a Subject Matter Expert. They will maintain strong relations with the Trade Compliance Manager and support all compliance efforts and training.

In addition, they will promote productivity tools, audit files in accordance with AEO, follow up refunds with customs authorities, and manage customs systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee all Customs Brokerage Operational Standards
  • Ensure all classification instructions for all shipments
  • Monitor duty deferment usage and levels
  • Monitor license/visa applications
  • Provide strong support to the sales team
  • Maintain strong relations with the Trade Compliance Manager
  • Promote productivity tools
  • Audit files in accordance with AEO
  • Follow up refunds with customs authorities
  • Manage customs systems

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (advantageous)
  • 6+ years of experience in a Customs Brokerage Supervisor/Management role
  • Previous working experience within the Freight Forwarding/Global Logistics industry (advantageous)
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the Global Logistics Industry
  • Fully computer literate (MS Office Suite Applications)
  • Your own vehicle and a valid driver's license
