Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to join our team at SGS. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our laboratory operations and ensuring the highest quality results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine analytical techniques related to established laboratory procedures.
  • Assist in the investigation of any irregularities or non-conformances within the Fire Assay process.
  • Follow clear instructions and demonstrate flexibility in executing duties.
  • Assist with the maintenance of laboratory instruments and apparatus.
  • Participate in the completion of production reports and ensure required stock levels are maintained.
  • Adhere to all quality requirements of the SGS management system.
Requirements
  • Matric literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English.
  • Knowledge of laboratory quality management systems.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to work 24/7 shift patterns.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Fire Assay laboratory.
  • Knowledge of laboratory quality management systems.
