Job Description:

As a Lifting Equipment Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our clients' lifting operations. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct thorough inspections of lifting equipment and machinery, verifying that they meet legal requirements and company standards.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily planning and target setting for inspection, service, repair, and testing of lifting equipment and machinery
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements, OHS Act regulations, SANS standards, and company policies
  • Assess and verify work done on lifting equipment and machinery according to check sheets and job cards
  • Manage data clerks and verify documentation to ensure speedy turnaround of certificates
  • Continuously look for improved methods of testing and streamlining processes
  • Do on-site inspections, maintenance, repairs, and testing of lifting equipment and machinery
  • Ensure safe working environments, hazard identification, and conduct risk assessments

Requirements:

  • National Certificate: Lifting Machinery Inspection qualification
  • Registered at the Engineering Council of South Africa as a registered Lifting Machinery Inspector for various categories
  • 5 years relevant experience in a lifting equipment and machinery environment
  • Computer literate (MS Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel)
