Operational Risk Manager with Focus on Health and Safety

To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A National Diploma in Safety Management (preferable) or equivalent and/or at least SAMTRAC.
- OHS Act, ISO, Environmental, Noise & Energy knowledge of requirements.
- Knowledge of all relevant safety systems and procedures.
- A minimum of 3 years work experience in a manufacturing or related field.
BUSINESS PROTECTION
- Maintaining and driving compliance with current regulatory, ISO, and legal compliance audit requirements for all company sites.
- Monitoring the implementation of HSE policies, procedures, standards, processes, and programs on each shift against expected standards.
- Supporting and driving to achieve annual targets as per Compliance Section KPIs.
HEALTH AND SAFETY MANAGEMENT
- Providing comprehensive SHE consulting service and advice to manufacturing plants in consultation with SHE EQ.
- Participating, investigating, and reporting on incidents in the workplace and devising strategies for preventative measures.
- Conducting regular HIRA and taking actions to eliminate environmental aspects and impact assessments, updating SWPs and SOPs; setting up regular meetings to close out such findings towards continuous improvement.
ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT
- Ensuring processes needed for Environmental Management System are implemented and maintained as per legislation and in accordance with ISO.
- Conducting monthly environmental assessments, communicating to relevant supervision and managers, and setting up weekly meetings to close out such findings towards continuous improvement.
ENERGY MANAGEMENT
- Supporting plant energy efficient plan to continuously reduce overall consumption of energy.
- Creating awareness culture regarding energy savings through implementing switching-off schedule with various apparatus or unused equipment.
RISK MANAGEMENT
- Compliance with current legislation, standards, and Legal Requirements.
- Ensuring risk assessment for all departments are validated as part of planned monthly HSE inspections/walkabouts.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT/SUPPORT
- Supporting people management initiatives to facilitate readiness of information, storage, meeting SHE EQ deadlines, consolidating training.
- Coordinating overall activities of SHE EQ Section to facilitate and support people management initiatives driving sections deliverables.
