Job Title: Legal Advisor

As a seasoned Legal Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our organization operates within legal guidelines and minimizes risks associated with legal matters. You will provide expert legal advice on regulatory compliance, contract law, corporate governance, and more.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal guidance and support on regulatory compliance matters relevant to the industry.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting the company.
  • Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments to ensure legal compliance across the organization.
  • Assist in managing legal disputes and litigation, including working with external counsel when necessary.
  • Advise on corporate governance matters and assist in board and shareholder meetings.
  • Educate and train employees on legal issues and compliance matters.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Laws: LLB, BCom Law, BA Law or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 5-8 years post-qualification experience
  • Admitted attorney of the High Court (required)
  • Knowledge of IP Management, SSA, Commercial law, Labour law, and Dispute Resolution
  • Strong ability in conducting legal research and analysis
  • Additional languages such as French and/or Portuguese beneficial
