Job Title: Production Manager

Profile Personnel seeks a dedicated and experienced Production Manager to oversee the safe execution of all activities in the plant production processes. The ideal candidate will ensure the achievement of production and quality targets in accordance with production plans.

Responsibilities:
  • Production Planning: Schedule and monitor production activities, arrange change-overs according to the production plan, and balance production lines (manning levels).
  • Production Management: Maintain manufacturing efficiencies, ensure correct start-up procedures, supervise work units, and monitor daily production targets. Identify and resolve manufacturing-related problems and sub-standard performance.
  • Raw Materials: Monitor production material levels, supervise monthly stock takes, and ensure that records are correctly entered.
  • Material Handling: Handle and care for materials, identify and process waste, and report material issues/concerns.
  • Maintenance: Anticipate and troubleshoot machine functioning, monitor maintenance or manufacturing equipment, and inform responsible persons of equipment/tooling breakdowns.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvements and apply continuous improvement principles.
  • People Management: Coach and counsel people to ensure improved performance levels, ensure discipline is maintained, and resolve grievances/disputes.
  • SHE: Ensure safe working conditions, report unsafe equipment/working conditions, and ensure that all safe working procedures are adhered to by subordinates.
Requirements:
  • Matriculation (grade 12 school leaving certificate) with maths & science as subjects.
  • Further Education and Training Certificate: Manufacturing and Assembly Operations Supervision.
  • At least two (2) years' supervisory experience in an Automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Production Management diploma or studying towards the same or similar qualification.
