Field Service Technician Graduate Internship – Gauteng

What will your responsibilities include?

As part of the Service Division, this internship will involve collaborating closely with the team to deliver technical assistance to our customer base, ensuring they derive maximum benefit from Smith & Nephew technologies.

What qualifications will contribute to your success?

  • Completion of learning modules on SNN's surgical video.
  • Mastery of learning modules related to associated technologies.
  • Familiarity with all Instructions for Use (IFU) for SNN equipment.
  • Understanding of typical wiring diagrams, inputs, and outputs relevant to SNN tower.
  • Experience in practicing all supported sterilization methods as applicable.
  • Ability to conduct basic troubleshooting and in-service checks.
  • Adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) regarding service, product complaints, and product recalls.
  • Completion of CRICE clinical practice modules.
  • Support for regional clinical engineers and local sales representatives as needed.
  • Demonstration of knowledge and capability to engage with key internal and external contacts.
  • Expertise in Smith & Nephew surgical imaging systems and associated technologies on the Camera Tower/stack.
  • Competence in providing tailored camera system setups for various surgical disciplines, including Arthroscopy, Laparoscopy, ENT, Urology, GYN, etc.
  • Compliance with industry code standards for company representatives in clinical settings, including hospital protocols for equipment handling.

Successful candidates will possess the following:

  • Matric Qualification.
  • Degree or National Diploma in Electronic Engineering or Clinical Engineering.
  • Completion of Practical Session 1 (P1).
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Access to a personal vehicle.
