Located in Durban, The Legends Agency seeks a seasoned Senior Control Room Operator to oversee the efficient management of control room operations within a 24/7 environment.

This critical role demands a dedicated and detail-oriented professional who can effectively lead the control room team and ensure seamless communication with clients.

The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills and be proficient in handling multiple tasks simultaneously, ensuring effective dispatch of responders and monitoring vehicle movements in real-time.

A key aspect of this position is maintaining accurate records and compiling detailed reports, providing valuable insights into resource utilization and vehicle performance.

To succeed in this challenging role, candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to provide on-the-job training to new staff members.

With a rotation schedule covering both day and night shifts, successful applicants will demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in their work routine.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Customer Interaction:
    • Respond to incoming calls and manage customer inquiries professionally.
    • Coordinate incident responses through WhatsApp groups.
    • Address customer queries and complaints promptly, providing regular updates on resolutions.
  • Dispatch and Monitoring:
    • Effectively dispatch responders and monitor vehicle movements in real-time.
    • Ensure Journey Management Plans (JMPs) are prepared and adhered to.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Capture accurate data on vehicle movements, fuel usage, and resource utilization.
    • Compile detailed reports, meeting deadlines for submission.
  • Control Room Operations:
    • Conduct regular system checks to ensure communication tools are operational.
    • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to sanitation protocols.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Provide on-the-job training to new staff, promoting professional growth.
    • Ensure smooth shift handovers, communicating essential information clearly.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in logistics or operations are advantageous.
  • Proven experience in a similar control room environment, with logistics expertise preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and SharePoint).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Estimated Salary: R120,000 - R180,000 per annum, depending on experience.
