As an AWS Data Engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining large-scale data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and providing technical thought leadership to drive innovation and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Modelling and Architecture: Design and implement data models and architectures that meet business requirements and ensure data quality.
  • Technical Documentation and Artefacts: Develop and maintain technical documentation and artefacts to support data-driven solutions.
  • Data Formats and Quality: Ensure expertise in data formats such as Parquet, AVRO, JSON, XML, CSV, and work with data quality tools like Great Expectations.
  • Cloud Platforms and Services: Develop and work with REST APIs, build data pipelines using AWS Glue or Data Pipeline, and work with data stores like AWS S3, AWS RDS, and DynamoDB.
  • Big Data Pipelines and Data Platforms: Build and maintain big data pipelines using data platforms and ensure data is shared in line with information classification requirements.

Requirements:

  • Education: Relevant IT, Business, or Engineering degree.
  • Certifications: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified SysOps Associate, AWS Certified Developer Associate, AWS Certified Architect Associate, AWS Certified Architect Professional.
  • Technical Skills: Terraform, Python, SQL, NoSQL/PostgreSQL, Power BI, PySpark, Kafka, AWS ECS, AWS Redshift, AWS EMR, AWS Cloud Platform.

What We Offer:

E-Merge offers a competitive rate of R530 to R630 per hour, negotiable based on experience, and a contract position in Pretoria.
