Job Purpose: Abantu Staffing Solutions seeks a highly skilled and experienced Plant Manager to lead our manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the plant, ensuring that production targets are met, and that the plant operates efficiently and effectively.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Establishing Goals and Objectives: Set clear and achievable goals and objectives for the plant, aligned with the company's strategic plans.
  • Leading the Team: Direct, guide, and motivate immediate subordinates to achieve projected goals and objectives.
  • Implementing Procedures and Controls: Establish and enforce procedures and controls within the plant to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Decision Making: Make informed decisions based on company policy and pertinent data to exercise control over vital elements of the plant organisation.
  • Planning and Forecasting: Plan and forecast plant requirements, including equipment, manning, materials, and facilities, to establish budgets and complete the organisational structure.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement and implement new methods and procedures to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Customer Relations: Participate in customer relations by receiving and calling on customer representatives to promote a sound relationship and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Capital Equipment Acquisition: Recommend the acquisition of capital equipment to update existing equipment, increase plant efficiency, and compensate for design and product changes.
  • Employee Development: Review the job performance of each subordinate and recommend training and development opportunities to align with company policy.
