Accountant PositionWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant to contribute to the financial success of our company, Nexit Recruit. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial management and accounting practices, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to ensure compliance with local regulations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including financial statements and reports, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements and general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
  • Perform month-end closing processes and ensure timely completion of financial reporting, providing insightful analysis to support decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits, providing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in financial regulations and accounting standards, applying this knowledge to improve financial processes and procedures.
  • Mentor and train junior accounting staff, promoting professional development and growth within the team.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with additional certifications such as PA(SA) and CA(SA) being highly desirable.
  • At least 37 years of relevant experience in accounting or financial management, with a strong track record of success.
  • Excellent knowledge of South African accounting standards (SAGAAP) and taxation laws, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical and effective manner.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, with the ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • Membership in SAICA, SAIPA, or a related field is highly advantageous.
