Job Summary
This Senior Electrical Engineer position is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of Teraco’s electrical systems. The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and experience in the data centre industry.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating and maintaining the electrical maintenance program to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Developing and implementing plans to improve energy efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Providing technical support and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Serving as a third-line escalation for complex technical problems.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:
Identify areas of energy efficiency and reliability improvement in main LV distribution and downstream electrical systems, including innovative technologies and practices.
Perform regular equipment inspections to identify and address potential issues proactively.
Oversee the 3-yearly electrical maintenance shutdown to ensure time efficiency and appropriate levels of maintenance at the Energy Centre and MV level.
Drive the transformation from preventative maintenance to condition-based maintenance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve emergencies promptly to minimize impact.

Requirements

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant certification.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer.
  • Proficient knowledge of electrical systems, MV, STS, UPS, Transformers etc.
  • Familiarity with energy-efficient practices and technologies.
  • Experience in the data centre industry or a critical facility is desirable.
