NewBridge Graduate Institute seeks an experienced Computer Science Professor to join our faculty. As a Professor of Data Structures and Algorithms, you will teach first-year students the fundamental concepts of computer science, including programming in C++, Python, HTML, and JavaScript.

In this role, you will design and deliver lectures, lead discussions, and conduct practical sessions to help students grasp complex concepts. Your teaching philosophy should emphasize interactive and innovative methods, ensuring students understand key concepts and stay engaged throughout the course.

You will also be responsible for assessing student performance, providing constructive feedback, and contributing to curriculum development and review. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teaching and Learning
  • Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans, incorporating diverse teaching methodologies to cater to different learning styles.
  • Design and develop course content, instructional materials, and assessments in line with curriculum requirements.
  • Monitor student progress, providing individualized feedback and support to ensure they meet their academic goals.
  • Assessment and Evaluation
  • Administer and mark assessments, assignments, and examinations, ensuring fairness and consistency in grading.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement comprehensive assessment strategies.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students, highlighting strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Student Support and Engagement
  • Offer academic guidance, mentoring, and consultation hours to support student learning and well-being.
  • Identify students requiring additional support and develop targeted interventions to address their needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Subject Matter Expertise
  • Proven expertise in computer science, including data structures and algorithms, programming languages, and software engineering.
  • Ability to integrate current research and industry trends into teaching practices.

  • Strong ability to explain complex concepts in an engaging and accessible manner.
  • Experience designing and delivering courses, workshops, or training programs.
  • Proficiency in using various instructional methods, including digital learning tools.

  • Ability to engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
Requirements:
  • A Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Prior teaching experience, preferably in computer science.
  • Strong English language skills (written and verbal).
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in using digital learning tools.
  • Ongoing studies in the discipline and/or a research record.
