Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Head of Financial Operations to join our team at Helen Wilson Recruitment. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the financial strategy, ensuring robust financial management and operational efficiency across the company's global operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Strategy and Leadership:
    • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's growth objectives.
    • Provide strategic direction and insights to the executive team regarding financial performance and opportunities.
  • Group Consolidations:
    • Manage group consolidation processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting across all subsidiaries.
    • Oversee the preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Systems Integration:
    • Lead the integration of financial systems across retail operations, workshops, and factory processes to enhance operational efficiency.
    • Collaborate with IT and operational teams to ensure seamless data flow and reporting capabilities.
  • Foreign Currency Management:
    • Oversee foreign currency transactions and manage exposure to foreign exchange risks.
    • Develop strategies for effective currency management in line with international operations.
  • Tax Compliance:
    • Manage all local tax matters, ensuring compliance with regulations and optimizing tax strategies.
    • Liaise with tax advisors and regulatory authorities as necessary.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis:
    • Provide regular financial reports to the board and stakeholders, highlighting key metrics and performance indicators.
    • Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and identify areas for improvement.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Lead the annual budgeting process and prepare forecasts that align with strategic goals.
    • Monitor financial performance against budget and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
    • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for finance staff.
About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in finance, with experience in group consolidations, financial reporting, and tax compliance. They will also have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need to have:

  • A qualified Chartered Accountant CA(SA) with a strong academic background.
  • Minimum of 15 years of post-articles experience in a financial leadership role, with experience in group consolidations in an international or global environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial reporting.
  • Experience in systems integration across finance and operational functions.
  • Proficient in managing foreign currency transactions and exposure.
  • Strong knowledge of local tax laws and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership abilities.
What We Offer
