Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Health and Safety Professional to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining effective health and safety programs across our construction sites. This role requires a strong understanding of safety regulations, risk management, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement site-specific health and safety plans, including method statements and risk assessments;
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions;
- Collaborate with site managers and supervisors to ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures;
- Investigate accidents and incidents, identifying root causes and recommending improvements to prevent future occurrences;
- Maintain accurate records of health and safety activities, including incident reports, audits, and training sessions;
- Provide guidance and support to employees on health and safety matters, including inductions, training, and awareness programs;
- Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards, ensuring that Telebest remains compliant.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field;
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in health and safety management, preferably in the construction industry;
- Proven track record of improving health and safety performance in a similar role;
- Strong knowledge of South African health and safety laws, regulations, and industry standards;
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Salary Information
The salary for this position is estimated to be around R700,000 - R900,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
