The main tasks of this position include:

  • Patient-centred consultations across all ages in the clinic.
  • Complete patient referral letters and act as a point of contact with Doctors allocated to the Clinic.
  • Identify patient's needs and problems with effective listening.
  • Perform accurate and relevant physical examinations.
  • Ensure continuity of care by deciding on follow-up and review plans.

In addition to these responsibilities, the Clinical Associate will also need to:

  • Explain the role and function of a clinical associate to the patient.
  • Apply basic ethical principles.
  • Comply with statutory and professional obligations.
  • Demonstrate appropriate and sensitive attitudes to patients, families, communities, and colleagues.
