Senior Attorney

The Stellenbosch University Law Clinic seeks to appoint a highly skilled and experienced attorney to join its team of legal clinicians.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and dedicated individual to work in a dynamic environment that provides free legal services to the indigent while training final year law students and candidate legal practitioners in the practical application of the law.

• Providing legal services, including consulting, researching, drafting and litigating;
• Supervising and mentoring candidate legal practitioners and students;
• Providing legal education and training to candidate legal practitioners, students and to members of the community, including the poor and marginalised;
• Managing relationships with Clinic stakeholders;
• Conducting administration relating to all of the above activities.

We are looking for a qualified and experienced attorney with a strong background in family law, particularly children's rights matters. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively in a multicultural environment and be proactive and innovative in their approach.

The estimated salary for this role is R550,000 - R700,000 per annum, depending on experience.
