Job Title: Construction Project Director

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Construction Project Director to oversee large-scale construction projects in Zambia. This role involves managing the planning, execution, and finalization of various projects, ensuring quality, safety, and timely completion.

Job Description:Project Management
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, defining scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, and resource allocation. Collaborate with senior management and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
  • Oversee daily construction operations, ensuring they align with schedules, quality standards, and contract specifications. Work closely with contractors, architects, engineers, and construction teams to ensure smooth project execution.
Staff Hiring and Management
  • Lead the recruitment and management of contractors, subcontractors, and on-site teams. Foster a culture of accountability, performance, and skill development.
Quality Control and Compliance
  • Conduct regular site inspections and implement quality control processes to ensure work adheres to design specifications and industry standards.
  • Ensure all construction activities comply with safety regulations and environmental standards. Conduct safety briefings and enforce protocols to prevent accidents.
Communication and Documentation
  • Serve as the primary contact for clients and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with project goals. Provide regular updates on project progress, milestones, and any challenges.
  • Manage project documentation, including contracts, permits, and progress reports. Prepare detailed reports on budget performance and project risks.
Problem Solving and Budgeting
  • Proactively identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies. Address unexpected challenges such as regulatory changes or material shortages with effective solutions.
  • Prepare and manage detailed project budgets, ensuring alignment with financial goals. Address cost overruns and explore cost-saving opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Master's degree or PMP certification is advantageous).
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience managing large-scale construction projects, particularly in Africa.
Salary:

The estimated salary range for this position is between $80,000 and $120,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
