As a trusted mentor, you'll guide a team of underwriting analysts, ensuring they adhere to key performance indicators (KPIs) and fostering a high-performing team culture. Your expertise will be invaluable in navigating complex financial structures and asset valuations, providing in-depth financial, sovereign, and sectoral analyses relevant to our portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of credit underwriting analysts, promoting adherence to KPIs and encouraging professional growth.
- Credit Assessments: Perform thorough credit assessments, including limit and rating settings, and re-assessment cycles, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analysis, analyzing complex credit structures and asset valuations to inform decision-making.
- Risk Reporting: Oversee credit risk reporting and develop innovative processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaboration: Work closely with global credit teams to manage credit risks, leveraging collective expertise to drive results.
- Strategy and Innovation: Lead and contribute to strategic projects, driving business growth and process improvement.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in Credit Risk or Credit Underwriting within mining, commodity trading, banking, or insurance.
- Strong financial analysis skills, with experience in coding (VBA, PowerBI, or Python) an added advantage.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to manage priorities effectively.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Risk Management, Economics, or related fields, with postgraduate qualifications (CA, CFA, or CIMA) highly desirable.
