The Estate Maintenance Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations of our properties in Somerset West, Cape Town. This involves developing and implementing comprehensive maintenance plans, managing vendor relationships, and leading a team of maintenance staff.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintenance Planning and Execution: Plan, coordinate, and execute maintenance activities across multiple properties, ensuring timely completion of work within budget and compliance with industry standards.
- Vendor Management and Contracting: Source, negotiate contracts with, and manage relationships with vendors and contractors for maintenance services, monitoring their performance to ensure high-quality work.
- Team Management: Lead a team of maintenance staff and contractors, providing guidance, training, and support as needed to foster a positive work environment.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations and industry best practices, conducting regular safety inspections and implementing corrective actions as required.
- Reporting and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including work orders, expenses, and repairs, preparing regular reports for management on maintenance operations and performance.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Estate Maintenance Coordinator or similar role in the sectional title / estate management industry.
- Strong knowledge of estate maintenance best practices, building systems, and equipment.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in vendor negotiation and contract management.
